ON TAP AND HANK MILLS 1 Prove Winning Combination in Olympic Claiming Stakes. » Condescend, With Sande Up, Scores Fourth Straight Success — Rousing Finish Occurs in Opening Race. » NEW YORK, N. Y., May 3.— On Tap, racing for her new owner, William N. Adrians, stood a severe stretch drive to account for the Olympic Claiming Stakes, the feature offering of the Tuesday program at Jamaica. Ridden by H. Mills, she showed the way to Ha Ha, that races for the Latin Stable, while F. E. Krafts Judge Schilling was an easy third over A. Schuttingers Dark Seeker, that completed the field. The event was a six furlong dash that carried an added value of ,000 and was worth ,400 to the winner. A typical spring day, a fast track and several interesting races attracted a good sized crowd to the course of the Metropolitan Jockey Club. The Olympic was the best offering from a monetary standpoint and seven were named overnight. There were three withdrawals in the race, Ladana, Way-layer and Pennate. The start was a good one and On Tap moved into command at once, pressed by Ha Ha, while Judge Schilling and Dark Seeker raced along several lengths back of them lapped on each other. Nearing the far turn Dark Seeker dropped back steadily and was eliminated and when Judge Schilling was placed under pressure he failed to make up ground on the leaders. On Tap hugged the inner rail turning for home and Knapp, astride Ha Ha, plied his whip industriously to have his mount assume command. The Coe discard poked his head in front for several strides, but the mare came again when urged and through the final furlong was steadily drawing away and at the end had a half length advantage. The winners effort from a time standpoint, was a good one, she negotiating the distance in 1:12. SEPARATED BY HEADS. A rousing finish with five horses battling it out heads apart and with the winner in doubt until the official placing declared E. Josiahs My Sweets triumphant over J. Mcphersons Stimulator, with Mrs. A. Carfanos Mae Sweep in third place, started off the days program. The event was a six furlong sprint for platers and an even dozen accepted the issue. The Heathen was installed a pronounced choice in here and had no mishaps in the running, while Stimulator, with good racing luck, would probably have won. Condescend, the good sprinter which races for Frank E. Brown, ran his score to four at this meeting when Sande had him home an easy winner of the Hurricana, a sprint of six furlongs for three-year-olds and over. Condescend left no doubt as to his superiority over his opponents. His price in the calculations reflected the judgment of the oralizers, for he was held at a prohibitive figure, in fact the shortest of the season, 1 to 15. Dornoch, from the Mrs. J. H. Whitney stable, was second, while James Butlers Spring Fever outlasted Mrs. Hertz Watch Him for the third portion of the purse. J. J. Robinson, who has cut a wide swath in Jamaica racing this season, added another purse to his total when his Glidelia was an easy winner of the third race. Little Nap was the one to finish second, while Jamison was third.
