OITER HARBOR, in rather close quarters on the far turn, came gamely when clear near the stretch turn and, taking command when straightened out, lasted to withstand NELL KUHLMAN. The latter, probably best, took the early lead, but raced wide on the stretch turn, but came again and was overtaking the winner. ESSENTIAL saved ground on the stretch turn and was best of the others. TRICE did not threaten. PHANTA-SIME tired. SOUR MASH was shuffled back after the start. ROMANY BAW tired. DUSKY DAME began well and, taking command after going half the distance, opened up a good lead in the stretch, but was hard urged near the end to hold TOXEY. The latter came gamely in the stretch. UPHEAVAL saved ground on the stretch turn. OGEE was racing well at the end. LUCY MENIFEE could not keep up SAMMYTUCK dropped out of it after starting well. The others did not threaten. BAG O GOLD, prominently placed early, found the long stretch to her advantage and, coming fast, wore down JARGON to win drawing away. JARGON dashed into contention soon after the start and, taking command after leaving the back stretch, saved much ground, but could not resist the winner. ANNE L. took the early lead and raced fairly well. ROBERTA L. improved her position. NOELS DRESS and TEWSENELDA showed early speed. BEAUTY BRIDE was blocked in the first quarter and lost all chance. EIGHTY TWENTY raced close to the pace from the start and, hard ridden in the stretch, overcame interference from DOLLAR PRINCESS and outlasted the latter. DOLLAR PRINCESS took the lead early, and increased it on the far turn after bearing out in the stretch and interfering with the winner, held on gamely though in close quarters. CHIEFS CHALLENGER was a factor throughout. COTTON TIME also raced cloe up. HONEYMAN was in close quarters earlv. DOCTOR HAPPY raced on the outside. GOLD STEP showed speed, but was inclined to race wide and lost the race by bearing out in the stretch. MARTIE FLYNN raced fairly well. OUT BOUND tired after leading to the stretch. SHIFT, showing good early speed, took the lead early and, increasing it after leaving the back stretch, met interference from the winner in the stretch and dropped back. HAM raced close up throughout. ROUGH RIDER came from far back. ADALOR T. was in close quarters near the far turn.
