f BELMONT TURF NOTES T . Q ยง Several trainers brought members of their stables to the paddock before the running of the first race for paddock education. In the lot were James Fitzsimmons Preston Burch, Henry McDaniel and Bud Stotler. Jockey Tommy Malley reported ill this i i morning and cancelled his days engagements. Trainer H. C. Riddle stated that J. J. Robinsons Eisenberg, which was badly jumped upon in a stake at Jamaica, is recovering steadily. Former jockey Albert Johnson, who has taken over several horses to train, ships to Montreal this week. T. W. Murphy came down from Syracuse to interest horsemen in the stakes to be run at the State Fair next September. Steeplechase jockey J. McGovern cancelled his mount on Red Russia on advice of his doctor. The boy rode Spar on Saturday and has not fully recovered from his fall.
