SOEUR BLANCHE went to the outside on the stretch turn, but was racing gamely at the end. LITTLE GERTIE and LAKNITE tired in the stretch. DOUBLE SHUFFLE raced wide on the stretch turn. PORTCODINE took the early lead and, racing as if much the best, was never overtaken, winning easily. LA SALLE saved much ground on the stretch turn and finished fast on the inside, but did not threaten the winner. RED CROSS SISTER dropped back after a quarter, but came again and overtook CHU CHU in the last stride. The latter tired. PORTERNESIA could not keep up. MAJOR LANPHIER was away poorly. SLAPPED met interference. CHUCK B. was in close quarters early and lost all chance. CHAT-WINK and RED BOOT tired in the stretch. MAD CAREER dropped back early, then took the lead on the far turn and held on well. DURVA raced gamely to the finish. SUNFIRE was shuffled back earlv, but closed a trap.
