Coe, which is due to arrive Saturday in charge of trainer Benny Creech. It will embrace a dozen horses. Among the Coe candidates for Arlington stakes are Pompeius, Masked Knight, Osculator, Laughing Queen and Polonaise. Trainer P. F. Dwyer will bring the main division of the Mereworth Stud Stable here from Belmont Park and it will be consoli-J dated with the western string, which is in charge of J. R. Pryce. Mad Pursuit, a Classic prospect, will head the shipment from New York. Bert Mulholland, assistant to A. J. Joyner in the training of George D. Wideners horses, was a recent visitor at Arlington Park and was deeply impressed with the magnitude and beauty of the north side course. Mulholland brought Evening to Chicago for an engagement and may move her to the north side track soon. Evening is a candidate for the Arlington Oaks, Classic and Matron Handicap. Copies of the stakes books, containing the entry lists for the thirty stakes to be offered during the meeting, will be issued late next week. The stakes average more than seventy-eight nominations each. Happy Gordon, who has been the outrider at Arlington for several seasons, will be back with his red coat and spotted pony again this year. He is now in the East. One of the largest groups of horses to be campaigned at the Arlington Park meeting, opening June 27, will be that of Audley Farm, which will be in charge of Kay Spence. Among the thirty horses are Gallant Knight, candidate for the Arlington In-. augural. Stars and Stripes and Arlington Handicaps and Arlington Gold Cup, and Hilena, winner of the Debutante Stakes at Washington Park, which is entered in the Hyde Park and Lassie Stakes. Edward R. Bradley has reserved stabling accommodations for twenty-two horses. headed by the Kentucky Derby-Preakness winner, Burgoo King, a candidate for the Classic. Fifteen of the Bradley horses are two-year-olds. C. Le Roy Kings speedy Panetian and the well known plater. Double Heart, are among the horses George Arvin is bringing to Arlington. They are now campaigning in the East. Robert A. Smith, trainer of the Brook-meade and Bray Stables, has been granted stalls for twenty-two horses. He plans to bring Helianthus, Raccoon, Snap Back and Quillan from Belmont Park. Word has been received from Dr. Thomas M. Cassidy at Jamaica of the satisfactory progress of the Wood Memorial winner, Uni- verse, which is being groomed for the Classic. Universe will head Cassidys shipment of ten horses. Stable reservations for Don Leon, a prob- able starter in the Arlington Inaugural Han- dicap, and nine other horses the property of R. W. Collins have been made. Sidney Grant, Hillsborough and Polydorus are the mainstays among the seven horse3 A. Bartelstein plans to race at Arlington in charge of Harry Unna. Other prominent racing establishments granted stabling room were those of Cod-stream Stud, numbering fifteen head, including Marmion and French Lick Springs Stable of five horses. ♦ ♦
