♦ ♦ 1 WASHINGTON PARK 1J0TES~] The former handicap performer, Sarazen II., which was recently purchased by Bruce Johnson, arrived from New York. Jockey William Garner received word from his home in Centerville, Iowa, to the effect that his mother was injured in an automobile accident there. According to the information received by the rider, his car, in which his mother was riding with several other members of the Garner family, turned completely over. The others escaped with a shaking up. The jockey said that he was advised that his mothers injuries were not of a serious nature, but she will be confined to her home for quite a while. High Foot, now in his fifth year and which at one time was one of the future book choices for the Kentucky Derby of 1930, has been placed back in training by John J. Greely of the Shandon Farm Stable. The horse went wrong at New Orleans last winter and since then has been turned out at the Shandon Farm, near Lexington, Ky. He was brought to Washington Park from there a few days ago. Jockey Johnny Maiben, who rode Suntica to victory in the Illinois Oaks, has been tendered a contract by Willis Sharpe Kilmer, owner of the filly. Although Maiben may ride some Kilmer horses during the season, it is likely that he will remain in the employ of Harry Unna.
