NEW OFFICIALS FOR AURORA CICERO, 111., Aug. 23. Ed F. Carruthers, general manager of Exposition Park, Aurora, which has announced its opening date as September 3 to conflict with Lincoln Fields for thirteen or more days, was a visitor this afternoon. He refused to comment upon the coming meeting at Exposition Park any more than to state that plans were going along smoothly and that all the money necessary for backing the session had been raised. He has been gathering together a new set of officials, but refused to mention names. From another source, however, it was rumored that George "Red" Palmer, who officiates at the barrier on the independent tracks in eastern Canada, would be the starter.
