FIRST OF RANCOCAS SALES Por.ty Head Disposed of for Total of 1,125, Average ,028 Nedana Brings Top Price. SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y., Aug. 23. The first of the two sales of the absolute dispersal of the Rancocas Stable of Harry F. Sinclair of Jobstown, N. J., was held .Monday evening under the auspices of the Fasig-Tipton Company at their sales paddock. Nedana, fleet-footed sprinter and winner of sixteen races in her career, attracted the attention of breeders and bidding on this matron was brisk from the start. The Green-tree Stable secured her for ,700, which was top price of the. sale. Nedana was bred this spring to Bud Lerner. She is by imported Negofol, from Adana, and her first year in the stud was barren. A son of hers by Zev was sold previous to her and this one, a black colt, and. a half brother to Rigaud, winner at two, attracted considerable bidding. He was sold to the Belair Stud for ,800. A light bay filly, by Bud Lerner, from Katrina and a sister to the stake winner, Mokatam, was a yearling that attracted brisk bidding. This miss was sold to Harry Giddings, who came down from Canada to attend the sales. She was knocked down for ,000. Giddings secured another light bay filly, by Kai-Sang, from Decree, for which he paid ,300. Royalite, with a bay colt -at foot, was another that fell to the lot of Giddings when he bid ,750 for this matron. The colt, is a bay, by Bud Lerner and is a half brother to the winners, Zida and Zekiel. The stallions which were programed for the opening sale were put back until tonight.. , The brood mares realized a total of 2,050, or an average of ,050 each, while the yearlings realized 9,075, or an average of ,004. Forty head were disposed of during the evening for a grand total of 1,125, or an average of ,028. The crowd was a representative one and bidding on the choice lots offered was brisk.
