CUP CANDIDATES WORK OUT SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. T., Aug. 31 Between races today, two candidates for the Saratoga Cup were given trials for the running. War Hero, from the Glen Riddle Stable, and A. C. Bostwicks Mate were sent over the mile and a half distance. The horses worked separately, but both negotiated the route in the identical time of 2:37. Later trainer McDaniel brought out W. S. Kilmers Sun Archer, a candidate for the Hopeful Stakes, and stepped him along a smart three-quarters in 1:14. The works were impressive.
