LEADING AMERICAN JOCKEYS W. D. Wright and H. Mills occupied the spotlight in the drive for jockey honors last week and between them, on western and eastern tracks, they won nearly a score of races. Mills drew away from J. Gilbert, with whom he was tied for second place, by riding nine winners to Gilberts two, but Wright, further down the list, went him one better by riding ten winners, which enabled him to pass G. Smith and go into fifth place behind G. Elston, who had another good week with five winers. Mills recent success constitutes a serious threat to the leadership of S. Coucci, who passed him and Gilbert for the honor several weeks ago. Coucci, piloting only two winners, held on to his lead by a single victory. B. Hanford moved well past the century mark in winners, riding nine successfully, and he finished the week in seventh place, having passed D. Meade and A. Robertson.
