END OF APPRENTICESHIP NEAR CRETE, 111., Sept. 27. Thursday will mark the last day that jockey T. P. Martin will be entitled to his apprentice allowance of five pounds, he having ridden his first winner at Fairmount Parkz Collinsvillei on September 30, 1931. His initial win was scored on Premeditate, and the race wound up in a nose finish, with Marvina in seeond place. Martins plans following the close of Lincoln Fields are still in the making, but in all probability he will go to Maryland. He has been one of the riding sensations on the Illinois circuit all summer.
