ROYAL JULIANS FAREWELL BOW CRETE, 111., Sept. 27. Trainer Lon Johnson, who looks after the welfare of the W. H. Whitehouse stable, has about made up his mind to retire the veteran Royal Julian again, this time permanently. Royal Julian, now in his eighth year, has been emulating several noted actresses and their "farewell tours." He just wont stay retired and even after serving a season in the stud ..last spring he evinced such a desire to return to racing that Johnson again took him up and he won a race a short while back. Now the son of Royal IT. Julia L. manifests decided soreness following his morning gallops, especially when the footing is muddy, and his trainer says that he will retire him for keeps, as he fears that he might break down. Owner Whitiehouse has a yearling brother of Royal Julian at his Erlanger, Ky., farm and trainer Johnson expects great things from him.
