Start good out of machine. Won handily; second and third driving. BABEE, showing good speed, moved clear leaving the back stretch, disposed of CORRYMEELA and held GALA TIME safe. The latter, sluggish in the first half mile, went to the outside and closed with a rush. STAR FAIRY, forced to race on the outside of the leaders, challenged gamely at the final eighth post and held on well. WELL BUILT, outrun early, lost much ground entering the stretch, but closed fastest of all. FLUFFY LEE raced forwardly throughout. CORRYMEELA tired near the stretch. ETERNAL MAID had no mishaps. SWEEPING LIGHT responded to pressure and was wearing down the winner. PENCADER, hard urged throughout, was easily best of the others. MADWIND, pinched back leaving the back stretch, passed tiring horses in the stretch. ANUBIS was rushed off his feet to take the early lead and tired.
