EQUIPOISES BRILLIANT WORK HAVRE DE GRACE, Md., Sept. 29. In one of the most impressive workouts ever recorded over this course, Equipoise proved his readiness for the 0,000 added Havre de Grace Handicap, to be run Saturday, by stepping a mile in 1:38 after the second race this afternoon. Under steady restraint, Equipoise broke in front of the judges stand and stepped the opening quarter in :23, the half in :4!74 and the three-quarters in 1:12. Workman then took a tighter hold of his mount n a signal from trainer Fred Hopkins and, after passing the mile in 1:38, he was eased up the nine furlongs in 1:52. The four-year-old looked and acted good throughout the workout .and wanted to mn at all stages.
