ENDORSED BY BUSINESS MEN Richmond Merchants Strongly Approve W. P. Kynes Project in Contra Costa County, Calif. SAl, FRANCISCO, Calif., Oct. 6. The attl-tu.s of Richmond business men interesfs toward William P. Kynes new race track in Contra Costa County is voiced in a resolution adopted by the Richmond Industrial Commission, which went on record at its last meeting as strongly approving Kynes project. The commission points out in the resolution that the expenditure of close to 50,-000 in the construction of the plant and the employment of Richmond and Contra Costa County help will be of great benefit to the community. The commission also recommended the endorsement of the racing measure to be voted on in the November elections. The resolution follows: "Whereas, Mr. William P. Kyne has secured a franchise to operate a race track in Contra Costa County, and is preparing to spend upward of 50,000 in the construction of the plant; and, "Whereas, the construction of this racing plant will give temporary employment to a great many men within the county during the next three months and permanent employment to many thereafter, and county labor and material will be given preference in the construction and operation of the industry; and, "Whereas, the Richmond Industrial Commission has been instrumental in having Mr. Kyn . locate his track near the city of Richmond; it is, "Resolved: That the Richmond Industrial , Commission endorses Mr. William P. Kynes project, and also recommends the endorsement of the racing bill, to be voted on at the November elections, which gives the state of California the right to regulate and license this industry."
