OFF-DAY AT JAMAICA COURSE Bad Weather Affects Attendance and Track Iseult Triumphs. Wheatley Stable Adds ,425 to Its Coffers When Sir Gallahad IDT. Filly Wins Handicap. NEW YORK, N. Y Oct. 6. Iseult, daughter of Sir Gallahad in. and Swizzlestick, racing for the Wheatley Stable, accounted for the Hiawatha Handicap, the best offering on the program at Jamaica this afternoon. C. V. Whitneys Disdainful finished second, while Marshall Fields Maradadi was third over Bay Agnes, coupled with the winner but racing for the Belair Stud. A steady, drizzilng rain, which began as the field paraded for the first race, upset track conditions, and, as the afternoon progressed, mudlarks were the most popular. The crowd, held down to small numbers by the weather, was the smallest of the fall season. Racing was of a listless order, the majority of the winners having a big margin over their opponents. Four started in the Hiawatha, and when Iseult scored she added ,425 to the Wheat-ley Stable coffers. There was a brief delay at the. barrier, but the field left in good alignment. Iseult showed a pronounced liking for the soft footing and displayed a fine speed. Disdainful moved up fast after her and near the half-mile post Robertson started to go through on the inside. Mills swung over and blocked this avenue, forcing the odds-on choice back. However, she recovered quickly and moved up with good courage. In the run through the stretch, Disdainful tired fast and at the end was many lengths back of the leaders, staged a battle for the minor award, which went to the Field starter in the final strides. A rattling finish came out of the fifth race, which was a dash for two-year-olds, at three-quarters. Hell Diver, ridden by Robertson, lasted long enough to stave off the fast-closing rush of George Odoms Rally Round, while farther back was Miney Myer-son. The race completed a double for Robertson, who started off by riding Benedictine. J. H. Louchheim claimed Miney Myerson out of the race for ,800.
