TWO CHARITY DAYS AT BOWIE State Racing Commission Grants Permission to Use Nov. 14 and 15 Season Ends Nov. 29. BOWIE, Md., Oct. 6. The Southern Maryland Agricultural Association, which conducts the spring and fall racing at this remodeled course, has been granted permission by the Maryland Racing Commission to hold charity programs on November 14 and November 15, the proceeds to be turned over to Marylands unemployment fund. As a result of its decision to stage two charity days, the racing here will be carried over to Tuesday, November 29, instead of winding up Marylands 1932 season on Saturday, November 26 as was first announced. General manager Joseph B. Boyle, racing secretary Joseph McLennan and treasurer Thomas Kirby Lynch are now working on the programs for the two charity days. They plan to offer worthwhile purses to the horsemen, so that the best thoroughbreds in training will parade postward. Last year the men back of this track handed over 6,332.41 for the states unemployed. Last spring they gave 9,090.26 and it is their aim to add at least another 5,000 to the unemployment fund next month. Horsemen are advised not to ship here without first being notified by track superintendent Dick Pending that they have been granted stalls. If there is an overflow, the horsemen can stable at Marlboro, which is six miles away and van here over excellent roads.
