Won easily; second and third driving. i GRACE R. hurried into the lead, withstood early contention from LIGHT PURPLE and LADY LEGEND, was shaken up when straightened into the stretch and came away smartly. STAR FAIRY, restrained early, was put to a drive in the last half mile, but faltered after a stout effort at the final eighth pole. LADY LEGEND, prominent throughout, held on well in the final drive. FINE FIBRE was forced wide from, the start. LIGHT RIPPLE weakened badly after three eighths. PERNICKETY saved ground, but was not good enough. CREEK, badly outrun for the first mile, responded stoutly in the final half mile, saved a great deal . of ground when IRISH BULLET carried FLAVIUS very wide into the stretch and, Finishing in determined fashion, caught the leaders at the final fence and drew out gradually. IRISH BULLET raced WHAT HAVE YOU into quick submission, fenced boldly, but began tiring and carried FLAVIUS out badly all during the stretch run, for which he was disqualified. The latter, crowded at the seventh fence, came to the pacemaker determinedly at the twelfth fence, but was carried out by IRISH BULLET, only for which he may have been winner. OUTLAW was unable to menace the leaders, but raced well. DAVID showed a good effort. HUFFY was taken up at the first fence when, his rider lost his stirrup irons and fell out of contention. CONTRIBUTE kept cloy to the early pace and, racing on the outside of the leaders, closed gamely when straightened into the stretch and outfinished RENAISSANCE. The latter raced PRINCESS CAMELIA and JUDGE PRIMROSE into defeat to gain command at the final eighth pole, but could not stall off the winner. SEA FOX, a strong factor the entire trip, held on with good courage. PRINCESS CAMELIA had speed for five eiehths and tired as if she was short. IMA QUEEN finished with a rush. STAND BY was outrun. CLARIFY, following close up, saved ground entering the stretch and, moving clear when taking command, had enough left to stall off FINGAL. The latter, stoutly ridden the entire trip, came wide into the stretch and finished courageously. KEGGY came between his field during the stretch run and Finished gamely. CODETTA steered wide and, weakly handled, finished stoutly on her own courage. SNAPLOCK lost ground all the way. ONCE closed fast on the inside from a slow beginning. PETURNAL, CUTIE FACE and CORDOBA were rushed off their feet making the pace. LIQUEUR had too much taken out of him to reach contention and quit, as did CATTAIL. BOSCOBEL, a stout factor from the start, held on with good courage after racing NIGHT PATROL and MOVE FASTER into defeat. NIGHT PATROL, favored by improved handling, was rated in front and held on well to outstay MOVE FASTER. The latter, in the thick of contention, finished gamely. TOTEM, steadied close to the loaders and forced to race on the outside, moved up to gain command when straightened into the stretch and, under strong handling, outstayed BRANDON ROSE. The latter, assumed a brief lead after the start, withstood strong contention from BROWN PET early and came again, during the closing eighth. BATTERING RAM secured racing room on the inside when reaching the leaders and came determinedly for the final drive. WILLIAM T. was kept well placed and finished fast at the end.-BROWN PET himg in the closing quarter mile. MING SUN showed a good test. LITTLE STOKES cama resolutely at the finish.
