ELSTON STILL UNCONSCIOUS Jockeys Condition Serious, Though Severe Concussion Instead of a Skull Fracture Is Indicated. LATONIA, Ky., Oct. 26. Jockey Gilbert Elston, who fell in the closing race here yesterday, remained unconscious and in a serious condition today. Reports from St. Elizabeths Hospital, Covington, to where he was rushed immediately after the accident, indicated the probability of a severe concussion, rather than a skull fracture and this was most heartening to the young saddle stars many friends and admirers. This is Elstons second serious fall in little more than four months. At Washington Park he suffered severe scalp lacerations and multiple bruises when his mount, Hard Lines, went down. Yesterday he was riding Black Dust, trained by Roscoe Goose, who, at the time of the Washington Park accident, was training Hard Lines. Goose developed Elston and the Montana youth has enjoyed much success astride horses trained by his former contract employer. Last fall Goose sold Elstons contract to M. Goldblatt.
