g LADYSMAN ON INJURED LIST W. R. Coe Star to Be Fired and Turned Out Until Next Spring. LAUREL, Md., Oct. 26. W. R. Coes Ladysman, winner of more than 00,000 in purses and which is considered the seasons best two-year-old, has been retired and will be fired and sent back to the Coe farm near Lexington, Ky. The retirement of the chestnut takes some of the punch out of the 0,000 Futurity to be run next month at Pimlico, a race which would have given Ladysman the years championship of his division had he been the winner. With Ladysman in retirement, it, may be necessary for turfites to wait until after the running of the ,500 Endurance Handicap, a mile and one-sixteenth race, later in November at Bowie, to find which is the rightful owner of the years two-year-old crown. Ladysman was very sore when shipped from New York to Havre de Grace. It was with difficulty that trainer Bennet Creech was able to get him postward in the rich Eastern Shore. Whatever chance he had of winning that race was lost when he drew the outside post position in the unwieldy field and the McGinnis barrier on that side of the track failed to rise, causing the out-; side horses to be left. Twentieth at the half-mile post, Ladysman raced past many of the others to finish seventh. The effort aggravated his bad leg and as it has failed to respond to treatment, trainer Creech has decided to fire the colt and send him back to the farm. Ladysman will be given a much needed rest and if he trains satisfactorily next spring will be sent after both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness.
