UNITED HUNTS GOOD PROGRAM Full Complement of Races, With Whitney Gold Cup Contest an . J Outstanding Feature. NEW YORK, N. T., Oct. 26 The opening meeting of the United Hunts Racing Association, to be held at Belmont Park, election day, November 8, promises to be the best in the history of this sporting organization. One of the feature events will be the Whitney Gold Cup, at one mile and a half on the flat the gold cup being donated by a friend of distance racing to encourage this worthy cause. Among the probable entries are Morton L. Schwartz Gusto, winner of the Arlington Derby and Jockey Club Gold Cup; William Woodwards Pardee, Richard F. Howes Sansarica or Old Master, the Wheat-ley Stables Blenheim, C. V. Whitneys Halcyon, Greentree Stables St. Brideaux, Mrs. K. FJ. Hitts Sun Meadow and A. C. Bost-wicks Mate. The other feature, the Temple -Gwathmey Memorial Steeplechase, at two and a half miles, should bring to the post the best cross-country field of the year. These include John Sanfords Tourist H., winner of the Brook and Grand National; Mrs. John Hay Whitneys Green Cheese, winner of the Broad Hollow; E. R. Bradleys Barometer, winner of three Saratoga steeplechases; Greentree Stables Jack Anthony, Mrs. Thomas W. Durants St, Francis, Thomas Hitchcocks Silverskin, John B. Macombers Redbridge, William Almy, Jr.s Citron, with possibly Joseph E. Wideners Azucar and Thomas Hitchcocks Chenango as additional contestants. Other events are two flat races and two steeplechases, one of each for amateur riders, these latter being, respectively, the Richard Peters, at one and a half miles on the flat, and the Weld Steeplechase, for hunters. Some of the American and foreign officers, including representatives from France, the Irish Free State and Canada, here for the National Horse Show in Madison Square Garden following the United Hunts meeting, will be among the contestants for the Richard Peters Challenge Cup, which will add an international flavor to the days sport The farogram, in its entirety, upholds the best traditions of sport and the association, only one event being at a distance less than a mile and a half. The association announces reduced admission prices through H. A. Buck.lts secretary. The general admission to the grand stand and paddock will be .20, tax included, instead of the former .85, and to the enclosure .85, tax included, instead of- .70, as formerly.
