LOUIS DOR, saved for a mile, improved his position fast when urged, came gamely in the final hall mile and, wearing down the leaders at the last fence, drew out gradually near the end. LORD JOHNSON improved his position, saved much ground, shook off DANIEL SOOT, but was weakly ridden near the end. DANIEL SOOT sprinted into an easy lead, jumped well, but tired in the closing half mile. QUICK MARCH raced close up and had no excuses. BRASH was never a factor. MELITA raced well. OESEL raced poorly. . LIGHT PLUME was pulled up after the ninth fence when his rider lost a stirrup iron. SAN MIGUEL fell at the fourth and BERRILLDON FLASH fell at the first fence. WAR GLORY, at home in the going and kept close up, went to the outside and, disposing of METAURUS under pressure, drew away. METAURUS raced MOROCEN into defeat in the first five-eighths, saved ground, but tired in the last eighth. CANON LAW was inclined to bear out for three-eighths, was then taken to the inside and finished gamely. POMPOSITY, hard ridden throughout, went wide into the stretch and lost all chance. SHAPFELL and CHATTERFOL could net improve their position. LEZEV closed a good gap. Won driving; second and third easily. CAMP PRINCE, a factor after being displaced, responded strongly when urged, crowded RUBIO and PENCADER badlj on the stretch turn and continued gamely. PENCADER, saved for three-quarters, moved to the leaders on the inside midway of the final turn, drew up on even terms with the leaders, overcame interference, but went wide near the end. FRIGATE BIRD, outrun early, finished gamely. RUBIO was badly pinched back when CAMP PRINCE crossed over when taking the lead and tired. ALL ROWES raced well. SEA FOX tired. BOLILEE lost ground entering the stretch. SWEET CHARIOT took a commanding lead, saved much ground, but tired fast in the final sixteenth. ABSOLUTE raced very wide throughout. WAHOO was held safe. TREMENDOUS showed poor form. GRACE R. showed speed for half a mile and quit badly, but can do better. The latter, showing improved form, gained fast after being outrun for five-eighths; lost ground entering the stretch, but was wearing down tho leaders. CABEZO, a factor throughout, outlasted GLASTONBURY. The latter, allowed to drop out of it, finished gamely on his own courage while on the inside. MARTIS tired. ARRAS was pulled up when outrun. The latter shook off MY FERGUS and fought it out stubbornly. MARCASITE, prominent throughout, challenged strongly in the stretch, but bore in and had to be eased back. FAIR BILL closed resolutely on the inside from a slow start. THE TATTLER showed good form. AMERICANA and TRIPLE THREAT had no mishaps. MUD, suited by the going, raced NIGHT PATROL into defeat and held TOTEM safe. The latter closed gamely under his impost. NIGHT PATROL, poorly ridden and rushed to exhaustion in an early effort to overtake MUD, tired. REGAL FLAG began slowly and was never a factor. PAPYROGRAPH was done early.
