ICICLE, saved for a mile and a half, entered contention fast, but could not menace the winner. JACK. ANTHONY, well placed earlv. held on well. BANDIT fenced well. SPAR tired after a mile. INTEGRITY, showing a liking for the going, took a short lead midway of the final turn and, withstanding a drive willingly, just lasted to withstand VOTE. The latter, close up throughout, finished gamely and was slowly wearing down the winner. SWINHAVEN. taken wide until reaching the stretch, came through on the inside of the leaders in the stretch. WESTYS LAD was held safe. CRUISING, under urging whea sent into early command, saved much eround. only to tire badlv in the last quarter. YOU BOB began poorly. STAR PORTER showed good speed, saved ground and continued gamely when challenged. CUTIE FACE, racing forwardly, came gamely in the last eighth. ONCE could not get up. CAN* TORIA showed speed. SQUEEZE PLAY, starting from outside the machine, tired afler three-quarters. GARLIC was unable to get up. CATERER and MING SUN were never factors. MATADI also began from outside the gate.
