The latter showed good speed and was racing easily when he tired suddenly in the final sixteenth. COTTON CLUB, hard urged, slowly improved his position and finished resolutely. NAVAL CADET came from far back in a good performance. BE SHY tired. BOOMS PAL began slowly. ROULADE quit. GETTIN EVEN, far back for three-eighths and lucky, came through next to the rail when moving up under strong urging and, taking the lead, tired, yet lasted. VOLWOOD, away slowly, saved ground on the far turn, but went to the outside entering the stretch and, wearing down RUNNING WATER, failed to withstand the winner. RUNNING WATER showed speed, bore out in the stretch and held on well. QUORUM raced wide. CAYUGA tired after showing speed for half a mile. UNCLE MATT bore out badly all the way. ANGON BRIDGE was inclined to bear over under pressure in the stretch, causing some crowding, but wore down the leader and outlasted CHASAR. The latter, far back for three eighths, rallied to urging and, missing the crowding, finished gamely. MISS FLIP, in close quarters soon after the start, saved much ground and finished well on the inside. ATMOSPHERE swerved repeatedly. GRAND ROCK showed speed and was tiring badly when caught in close quarters in the last eighth. LIGHTIN BILL could not get up. HUERFANO showed speed and tired when sharply impeded in the stretch. HEAD PLAY, rated close to the pace, went to the front easily, came out when increasing his lead on the stretch turn and bumped the winner when holding on stubbornly. CHARLEY O., wellin hand for three-quarters, challenged gamely, thea tired, but held LADYSMAN safe. The latter raced wide most of the way, was under restraint for seven-eighths and failed to rallv when hard urged. POMPONIUS closed resolutelv. SPICSON began slowly. KERRY PATCH tired. MR. KHAYYAM was never a factor. ISAIAH and DARK WINTER showed early speed. GOOD ADVICE quit badly- and was pulled up. OGYGIA began fast, was taken back repeatedly, then moved up mildly on the stretch turn, but tired in the closing eighth. ROYAL SPORT had no mishaps PRETTY PENNY dropped out of it suddenly.
