The latter, starting flat-footed, had a lot taken out of her to enter contention. FREETHINKER met interference midway of the turn, but finished gamely. SANTA CREST was on the outside all the way. MT. UNENCUMBERED, prominent and saving ground wherever possible, finished with excellent courage. STEALINGAWAY fought it out gamely aftei making a bold effort at the stretch turn. HELP YOURSELF sprinted clear after five-eighths, but faltered in the final drive. SHADY WELL was outrun. ESPINETTA and FLIGHTY ANNA had no excuses. THE DIPPER disposed of MYNHEER when ready, saved ground, but could not stay when challenged. ON LEAVE, slow to get going, closed a good gap. PHANTASIME raced evenly. PHIL R. raced in spots.
