j EMPIRE CITY TURF NOTES I 8 Frank J. Kearns departed for Saratoga with eight horses. Barn Dances behavior at the post was so bad the stewards issued an order prohibiting that horse from starting for the remainder of the current meeting. Pennate emerged from his last race so lame that he will be on the shelf for some time. George Odom expects to take up the R. L. Gerry yearlings early next month. F. J. Kearns arrived from Rockingham Park lor a few days before going to Saratoga. Jack Bell, Miami sports writer, was married in Boston Tuesday, according to word received here from that point. Apprentice D. Sorenson, who fell from Scotch Soldier Wednesday, is laid up at St. Joseph Hospital, Yonkers, with two bones in one ankle broken. The suspension of H. Tinker, who was set down Friday for crossing the field in the first race, was lifted by the stewards Saturday. Starter George Cassidy passed his test with high honors for a limited commercial pilots license at Roosevelt Field, Saturday morning. Benny Beach arrived from Rockingham Park. George Odom shipped the combined R. L. Gerry and Marshall Field stables to Saratoga. Tom Healey came down from Saratoga lor Saturdays racing. James Fitzsimmons was a one-day visitor from Saratoga.
