GRAND ACRE propped at the start and was forced to take up when blocked on the first turn, then moved up resolutely on the back stretch, showed in front briefly, but could not keep pace with the winner in the stretch. SEDGIE showed early speed. INVESTOR moved up with a rush on the back stretch, then tired. FIFE quit. RYE opened up a long lead, but faltered badly in the last three-sixteenths. BRANDON PRINCE was never a factor.
