1 SARATOGA TURF NOTES s -4 The Brookmeade Stable is quartered in the R. T. "Wilson barns at Oklahoma. Trainer R. W. Smith has the entire string galloping daily on the main track. All are fit and ready to race. James Fitzsimmons has thirty-two horses here. Jockey Hank Mills is in the saddle daily. George H. Bull, president of the Saratoga Association, is personally directing the preparatory work at the beautiful track. Nothing now remains to be done. The turnstiles are in place and the plant could open to-1 morrow. There has been no rain here for nine weeks, but the racing strip is in perfect condition. A large watering cart was brought here from Havre de Grace. Equipoise, which won the Arlington Handicap, under 135 pounds last Saturday, arrived from the Illinois track in excellent condition and he is holding his form. He never looked better. His first work here was a slow six furlongs in 1:30 with The Darb two days ago. Preston Burchs good mare Tambour is rounding into form. She should be at her best during the local meeting. The Glen Riddle Farm horses are well trained. William Zieglers smart juvenile colt Bonanza is coming back to form. Trainer Clyde Phillips has him not far- from a race.
