Hanka, who registered his : maiden victory here Saturday, astride the long shot Dark Star, scored his second success when he brought Saucy Maria from 1 behind in the stretch to win the fourth dash 1 this afternoon. Hanka, who is under contract 1 to William "Mickey" Harris, is small, and has a bright future before him. In the final drive Thomas Seth outgamed the tiring Forget Not for second after the latter had 1 assumed command at the stretch turn. The consistent filly Red Polly registered her fourth consecutive victory when she 1 annexed the third event. Never far from the leaders, A. J. Gerickes Customer moved up with a rush entering the stretch in the initial dash. After taking command a furlong out, she drew away into a decisive lead thereafter. They reached the finish closely lapped, with Rego securing the second award in the drive. Guide Book stopped badly in the run home after leading by a wide margin in the early running. Displaying a sudden return to his best form, Chianti took the measure of the bulky field of sprinters that paraded for the second race. Mrs. Kellers colorbearer wrested the lead from Don Carlos approaching the turn for home and, once in command, retained a comfortable margin over La Compere all through the stretch. La Compere was hard pressed at the end to save second from Monnie, which raced prominently throughout. Red Polly, Mrs. W. T. Westropes Poly-melian Naomi filly, rounded out an almost perfect July when she won the third race. It was her fourth straight. Her first start at Beulah Park was her only losing race of the month and she finished third in that. Today she won easily from Goodestoiie, drawing away after taking the lead in the back stretch.
