WASHINGTON PARK BOOK IN HANDS OF HORSEMEN Conditions books for the first seven days of the Washington Park meeting are now in the hands of the horsemen They reveal that during that period the purse distribu ¬ tion will total 51100 with the minimum value of any race 800 Three stakes the Washington Park Handicap the Debutante Stakes and the Robert M Sweitzer Handi ¬ cap will be decided in the first week Each of these fixtures has an added value of 2500 On days when there is no stake on the program a handicap or allowance event worth 1000 will be offered offeredThose Those who are partial to long distance rac ¬ ing will get their fill at the Homewood track The opening book shows that twenty seven of the first fiftysix races will find routes of one mile or one and oneeighth miles prevailing The latter distance will be used in fourteen of these twentyseven events eventsThirten Thirten races for twoyearolds will be run during the first seven days Maiden juveniles will be catered to in four of these The Debu ¬ tante Stakes is fashioned for twoyearold fillies and it will mark the first time the youngsters will be asked to race five and onehalf furlongs No twoyearold race here will be over a distance less than fiveeighths of a mile
