CHARLES TOWN TRACK MUDDY Oantroud and Repeal Thrill Large LargeMonday Monday Crowd by Spirited Duel Duelin in Days Headliner CHARLES TOWN W Va June 18 The fifth race here today provided a nose fin ¬ ish in which N B Stewards Cantroud got up in the final strides to get the decision from Repeal This Play was third The win ¬ ner was held at oddson in the wagering and returned 380 There were but six starters Plateau had the most early speed and raced in the van until straightened out of the back stretch Then Repeal which had been in second place drove into the lead and Cantroud moved into second place Plateau was done and the two leaders swung into the stretch with Repeal a length in front of Cantroud The latter came to the outside and in the stretch duel slowly wore down Repeal to get up in the final strides stridesRain Rain which fell throughout the after ¬ noon made the track muddy but there was a good Monday crowd on hand and keen finishes resulted in most of the races racesSmall Small Change found the track to his liking and led home Curling at the end of the third race Big Dipper was third Coupled in the Daily Double with the winner was Timber Fire winner of the first race and the combination paid 40140 40140Another Another upset came with the running of the fourth race when Bless Her Heart went to the front immediately following the start and made every post a winning one Her price was 2660
