SARAGON acted badly at the post, but went to the front early and drew away from his opposition approaching the stretch turn, but had to be shaken up near the end to hold STRANGE TIMES. The latter saved ground where possible in the early part and, finishing gamely, was gaining. " SOUEASTER, outrun a trifle in the early part, made up some ground in the stretch. RED SATIN showed improvement. SUPREME LEE was in close quarters in the early running. DEPUTATION was never a threat. GLENIRE had early speed. MAY RAP could not keep up. Scratched 00529 Penal, 110. SHASTA BANNER, always close up, was hard hustled through the stretch to catch ROXANA S. and draw out easily near the finish. ROXANA S. made the pace, but was weakening at the end. SUE GRAFTON showed improvement and was going well at the finish. BARNSLEY was slow to get going, and closed a gap. MORFIRE was in close quarters in the stretch. COLOR BELL could not keep up. SNOOKSIE SHOT broke quickly and, although headed in the early stages, remained close to the pace to the stretch, where she forged to the front under hard urging and held ANAPOLA in a drive. ANAPOLA, ! free of early interference, came to the outside in the stretch to finish well, and barely missed. BARBADOES, in close quarters approaching the stretch turn, came to the middle of the track in the run liome to finish fastest of all. ALSISTO was tiring at the end. BENS HOPE also weakened in the run home. BUEN TONO could never get to the leaders. BON MOON and WHIP .SNAKE showed a flash of early speed. Overweight Rare Crystal, 2 pounds; Xela, 5. SICKLEBILL was badly outrun to the final quarter, then came very fast on the outside to head DUNDREARY in the last sixteenth and win going away. DUNDREARY was close to the pace at all times, and took a short lead in the stretch, but could not resist the winner. ROSSER S. made the pace and held on fairly well in the final drive. TORO BLUE weakened in the run home. SILENT DON was caught in close quarters while attempting to get through on the inside of ROSSER S. on the far turn, and was never dangerous thereafter. HOPE. LORING displayed good early speed, and held on with more courage than usual. HARDATIT was in close quarters approaching the far turn. The others were outpaced.
