ALAMO ASKS DATES FOR 1936 SAN ANTONIO Texas May 11 A winter meeting of fortysix days extending from January 1 through February 22 has been requested by Alamo Downs according to Raymond Russell president of the track Should these dates be allowed by the Texas Racing Commission Alamo Downs will henceforth confine itself to one long win ¬ ter season seasonThese These dates were requested only after a conference with local merchants the Cham ¬ ber of Commerce and horsemen Russell plans to post a purse and stake schedule that will attract the best horses in the coun ¬ try to San Antonio and give the track new prominence in turf matters He plans to re ¬ lease this purse schedule some time during the coming week
