CROWD IN EXCESS OF 8000 Ladies Day at AkSarBen Respon sible for Large Attendance at Popular Track OMAHA Neb June 11 Ideal weather conditions and the fastest track of the cur ¬ rent meeting prevailed at AkSarBen Tues ¬ day afternoon and the attendance was in excess of 8000 it being Ladies Day DaySeven Seven claiming races embraced the pro ¬ gram four of which were for sprinters Several close finishes enlivened the sport considerably making up in competition for what was lacking in class classA A field of nine contestants went postward in the fourth race a dash of five and a half furlongs and C E Simmons Jere choice in the betting was returned the winner after a struggle arriving at the finish mark a half a length in front of Gale Way Another length and a half farther back in third place was Baldy BaldyAll All of the races were well filled and back ¬ ers of the choices met with more success than in previous days t
