ARRIVALS AT NARRAGANSETT Grayson Long and Metcalf Strings Reach Pawtucket Track Trainer JMatt Smart Expects Counter Pass Argoan and Legume to Make Good Records PAWTUCKET R IU June 13 Thorough ¬ breds owned bynptables of American so ¬ ciety and turfdoni arrived at Narragan sett Park this afternoon when the veteran trainer Matt Smart brought in more than thirty head owned by Adm G T Grayson head of t the American Red Cross Brecken bridge Long U S Ambassador to Italy Hpughton P Metcalf Rhode Island finan ¬ cier and sportsman and several owned by Smarts wife Mrs K Smart and his son Ray RayThe The horses came by van from New York where Smart has been campaigning success ¬ fully fullyA A score of the horses are juveniles and several of them have been nominated for the various twoyearold stakes here Smart expects Admiral Graysons young filly Coun ¬ ter Pass Houghton Metcalf s twoyearold colt Argoan the stake horses Legume Rough Player and the f illy Good Flavor to figure prominently in several of the feature events during the first meeting which opens here on June 19 The shipment brought in by Smart in ¬ cluded the twoyearold colts Brown Top Mr Quick Gold Clip Argoan and an un ¬ named juvenile the twoyearold fillies Bpurbonette Royal Ballad Counter Pass Halloo Happy Dea Ballad Singer Stage Whisper Top Shell Tinana What Cheer Leaving Home and Star Special and the young geldings Dreel Story and Settls Tryst The threeyearolds include the fillies Court Gossip Hot Griddle Good Flavor Bright Skirt Dixie Bud and Minnaht the colts Legume Rough Player and the geldings Jubilargo Onward and Happy Easter The fiveyearold gelding Prince Abbot and the fouryearold filly Retribution corriprise the rest of the string stringAn An old Narragansett favorite Time Sup ¬ ply winner of the 25000 Narragattsett Spe ¬ cial last fall and his two new stablemates the sprinter Ajaccio and the route running War Glory began preparing for the big events of the first meeting today Trainer F C Travis had the three stars of the F A Carreaud stable out of their stalls and walking early this morning He said he intended to start working them on the track this week Others in the Carreaud stable exercised this morning included Sea Fox Brown Jack Hastipast Cantine Lass Guard ¬ ian and several of the stables promising juveniles
