HEAD PLAY AT HIS BEST Easy Winner of Valuable Derby Week Special Handicap Finishes Four Lengths in Front of Stand Pat With Azucar in v Third Place DETROIT Mich June 13 Head Play strapping red son of My Play which bids fair to carry on the traditions of the Hast ¬ ings blood line added another stake to his brilliant 1935 record which includes vic ¬ tories over Cavalcade and Discovery when he was an easy winner of the Derby Week Special Handicap which featured another brilliant day of racing at Detroit here this afternoon afternoonIt It was an easy triumph for the fiveyear old which Mrs Silas B Mason purchased on the eve of the 1933 Kentucky Derby He reached the end of the nine furlongs well in hand and four lengths before E F Sea ¬ grams Stand Pat which was two and a half lengths jn the van of Fred M Alger Jrs Azucar at the end The Oak Tree Stables Bahamas the only other contestant was twenty lengths in Asucars wake at the finish Six were named overnight for tfie stakes which was
