EVEN DOZEN IN HITT STRING STRINGTrainer Trainer Rodrock Arrives at Narra Narragansett gansett Park Eight Juveniles Juvenilesin in Establishment PAWTUCKET R Ir June 13 A splendid string of twelve thoroughbreds owned by the Newport R I and Virginia society leader Mrs Katherine Elkins Hitt and trained by Thomas Rodrock joined the horse fnvasjon at Nacragansett Thursday where hundreds of workers horsemen and a bat ¬ tery of officials were putting the finishing touches on plans forvthe big opening here on June 19 A daughter of the late Senator Elkins of Virginia Who was famous as a diplomat and financier Mrs Hitt has won a promi ¬ nent place for herself in the Sport of Kings Mrs Hitt owns a fine breeding farm in Warrenton Va and this year has an ex ¬ cellent crop of twoyearolds sired by her famous stallion Ed Crump CrumpRodrock Rodrock has eight twoyearolds here sired by Ed Crump a promising twoyearold filly Brandy Fizz sired by the imported Teddy and a threeyearold Sunned also sired by Ed Crump CrumpAnother Another outstanding arrival was the sta ¬ ble of Mrs W W Vaughn owner of a fine breeding farm in Red Bank N J Trainer George Kelly has seven of Mrs Vaughns thoroughbreds ready to run here hereLyman Lyman A Bruise arrived from Rocking ¬ ham Park with seven horses led by three favorites of last year Moane Keala Grand ¬ pas Boy and Gay Crest CrestTrainer Trainer E Anthony arrived from Detroit with four horses owned by H Massey for ¬ mer director of the Detroit Fair Association AssociationOther Other arrivals this morning included Mrsi Belniont Evans string of Jive and Guy C Miltons stable of three Both shipments were from Rockingham Park The racing secretarys office at the park was a bustle of activity from early morn ¬ ing and handicapper Ben Holmes who is holding the stall allocations in describing the situation declared Theyre just drop ¬ ping in on us out of the clouds but were stabling them as fast as they arrive arriveA A number of the stables had horses work ¬ ing put on the track a few minutes after daylight this morning and several of the trainers were loud in their praise of the track condition
