ing especially attractive in the program to ¬ day at Latonia but what was lacking in class was amply made up in the thrilling finishes several of which brought the con ¬ testants to the line of finish so closely aligned that only the judges could separate them with accuracy accuracyAll All eight races had the claiming clause attached with the best class of horses racing in the seventh seventhSix Six of the better grade performers occu ¬ pied the feature position which resulted in another win for the F L B Stables Booms Pal which drove to the end half a length in the van of F P Letelliers Exotude Cam pagna accounted for the third part of the purse Smooth Angon Bridge and Ghalk Eye completed the field finishing in the order named namedThe The winner favorite for the race per ¬ formed under a heavy impost of 114 pounds and was spotting Exotude nineteen pounds in actual weight Even with that disadvan ¬ tage he made good for his admirers in a sterling performance when he came from behind the pace to gain his conquest in the final stages Exotude was much used racing Chalk Eye into defeat accomplishing that feat after racing head and head with him for fiveeighths of the mile and onesix ¬ teenth teenthBooms Booms Pal did not loom up as a real danger until the final eighth was reached It was at that point that he moved up to Exotude and in the long stretch drive emerged victorious by a slight margin marginAfter After Chalk Eye gave way it was up to Campagna to furnish some of the conten ¬ tion but her effort was rather feeble Smooth failed to race back iq his winning effort last out outSummer Summer like weather attended the sport conducted over a fast track and before one of the largest weekday crowds of the meet meetine ine ineThe The first race brought together from first page procession closing with half a length mar ¬ gin over Jack Conner which led most of the way but failed to withstand the winners belated rush Third went to Boston Sound which had raced close to the early leader for fiveeighths but found the task too ex ¬ acting and gave Way in the closing stages Beau Dis was another that tired after reach ¬ ing a contending position positionFormer Former jockey H Trdtsek saddled the winner of the second race when Ulrica car ¬ ried the colors of O F Woodward into first place three lertgths before Nordrie while third went to Lady Thirteen The disappoint ¬ ment Was1 Galloping but it was no fault of the filly but the faulty ride given her by apprentice R Bbhn who seemingly was in an uproar after the rise of the barrier His handling of the filly thereafter was rather amateurish Sadie Greenock the whis ¬ pered good thing heref layered her backers when she opened up a commanding lead approaching the stretch Near the end of the race hovever she tired badly when the real test came camePotterton Potterton won the third race not because he was best but because the veteran Mack Garner brought some of his best rough rid ¬ ing skill jnto play and for which he will spend ten days on the ground Knee Action was the victim of Garners shrewdness and with any kind of a break at all would have won the race by several lengths The victor had but half a length advantage after all the mauling he gave Knee Action and it was remarkable how apprentice Fallon kept his mount on his feet However he put forth a game performance and while much light ¬ er than his successfulrival he offered stub born opposition Jaz Age emerged from the scrimmage in third place while Sunshine Boy the favorite tired so badly in the final stages that he could do no better than fifth fifthThrilling Thrilling racing which prevailed from the opening of the program continued in the fifth race which iculminated in a driv ¬ ing finish with the Serenata Farms Bil to garner her award Gallic an outsider was a head back in third place fourth going to Wanoah which set the pace for a good part of the distance The winner given a rousing ride by F Fernandez reached the leaders approaching thestretch but could not over ¬ haul Wanoah until inside the sixteenth post Once in the van she maintained her slight advantage under severe punishment to hold Sis Agnes at bay bayAnother Another bristling finish came with the running of the fourth race which engaged nine juveniles at fiveeighths The winner was Prince Danny which led the heavily supported Larry M to the wire by a neck while the latter nosed out Morlute for the place award Morlute might have been best in this but being in close quarters most of the way and the weak manner In which he was handled in the closing stages played an impprtant part in his downfall Runamuck choice for the race gave way badly after racing prominently to the stretch
