INARRAGANSETT TURF NOTES Mrs E I Wade today purchased the five yearold chestnut mare American Belle from Mrs W Hodson at private terms The mare will be trained by Johnny Brouse the New Yorker who now has nine useful thorough ¬ breds under his care careState State veterinarian E L Cole announced today that the mare Gift of Roses de ¬ stroyed after the fourth race Thursday did not break down as was first reported but was cut down shortly after the start of the race raceJean Jean Dunbar nineteenyearold Baltimore boy reported here today to ride for R O Gilkes during the spring meeting at Nar ragansett Park Dunbar apprenticed to James Kehoe has been leased to Gilkes He will accept his first mount here tomor ¬ row Dunbar rode his first winner in De ¬ troit on May 28 and has since ridden twenty five winners winnersR R W Collins has been granted a train ¬ ers license by the Rhode Island Racing Commission
