FIRE DESTROYS 17 HORSES Pimlico Barn and Its Occupants Con ¬ sumed by Flames Triple Action Outstanding Racer Lost in inBlaze Blaze 50000 Value Placed Upon UponHorses Horses Lost BALTIMORE Md May 10 Only the scorched ends of the Pimlico stable which burned Saturday night remained today as all the debris was removed over Sunday A final check revealed that seventeen horses lost their lives as the result of the conflagration origin of which has not been determined determinedMost Most prominent and the last to die was Triple Action the Preakness candidate of J W Y Martin local sportsman who also lost seven others including Watsonia which he had purchased from T W Durant a few hours earlier Triple Action a bay gelding by Canter from Black Momma was so bad ¬ ly injured in the fire that it was found necessary to humanely destroy him yester ¬ day dayIn In addition to Triple Action and Watsonia other Martin horses lost were Sound Proof Platonic Flood Way Dim Hope Slow Mo ¬ tion and Watch Dog They were trained by Louis Feustal FeustalThe The entire stable of seven horses trained by R A Johnson was wiped out including Flag of War The others were Mardor prop ¬ erty of George R Riggs Antico and Time Special owned by L H Frye and HeAriette Atima Titima and Worthington belonging to Miss Rhoda Christmas ChristmasCompleting Completing the list of destroyed horses were L H Drennans Impudent and C P Miles Swift Flash A dozen horses were led to safety by stable hands and others attract ¬ ed to the blaze The value of the lost horses was placed at above 50000 while the barn was worth about 7500 Insurance was car ¬ ried on the structure as well as some of the horses
