NEW STRINGS FOR LATONIA Three Ds and King Kanch Reserve Stalls at Covington Texas Establishments to Make Initial Ap ¬ pearances at Course Heelfly Latonia Derby Eligible LOUISVILLE Ky May 45 Most of the regular participants in the Latonia summer meetings and a few newcomers will cam ¬ paign their horses through the thirtyseven days of racing beginning at the Covington track on Saturday May 29 a week after the close of the Churchill Downs session sessionProminent Prominent among those whose colors are not familiar to Latonia patrons but who this summer will be represented by formid ¬ able stables are the King Ranch of R J Kleberg and the Three Ds Stock Farm of E Paul and Guy L Waggoner These two stables hail from Texas and are two of the most powerful in the Lone Star State StateFormer Former jockey Willie Crump who trains them already is at Latonia with the King Ranch horses while J R Pryce trainer of the Three Ds racers will transfer his large string to the Covington course immediately after the close of the Downs session sessionHeading Heading the Three Ds establishment is the threeyearold Heelfly a nominee and almost certain starter in the 15000 added Latonia Derby to be renewed on June 12 This stable and the King Ranch also have made liberal nominations to other Latonia fixtures fixturesAmong Among those who regularly take in the Latonia meeting and whose horses again will campaign there this summer are Mose Goldblatt F P Letellier S G Baker Sr J W Parrish R L Stivers C H Ferguson Mrs R J Murphy J C Ellis Mrs Bessie Franzheim T L Pierce W D Covington J L Winscher Kirby Ramsey Henry For ¬ rest J G McAtee H H Temple Jr C R Valentine William E Smith Theodore E Mueller J F ONeil A F Lloyd and Joe Shakespeare ShakespeareAccording According to word received here a num ¬ ber of horses already are at the Covington track several stables arriving over last week ¬ end and stable reservations are expected to be at a premium by the time the Churchill Downs meeting comes to a close May 22
