THORNCLIFFE OPENS TODAY Toronto Track Staging Selectors Contest During SevenDay Ses ¬ sion 400 Prize to Winner TORONTO Ont May 31 Racing in the Dominion of Canada and in the Toronto sector swings into its second week with the opening of the popular Leaside course of the Thorncliffe Breeders and Racing Association here on Tuesday For the open ¬ ing general manager W R Woollatt secre ¬ tary Fred Livingston and superintendent Macarthur have the huge plant in spic and span order to greet the public Everything to serve the opening days patrons was in readiness and the week end visitors were free in expressing their satisfaction over the appearance of the course courseThe The track has been reported in tip top shape by horsemen and it should be at its best for tomorrows sport sportThorncliffe Thorncliffe Park always the mecca of new features is this season operating a selectors contest in which a specially printed card will be presented to patrons with their admission tickets The cards must be presented at a wicket in the mutuel ring before 230 each day the numbers of the patrons selections must be written on the cards and the stub of admission ticket ac ¬ companying the card A prize of 400 will be given to the one selecting the most win ¬ ners during the seven days and in case of a tie the one with the greatest mutuel total will decide the winner winnerThe The Daily Double will be held on the first and second races with the Oneto on the fourth and seventh Post time each day will be 230 p m and the races will be run in twentyfive minute intervals
