iVANDERBILT FUTURITY HORSE Impound Sent to Narragansett for New England Special Son r7 Sun Beau Finished Before Time TimeAlone Alone in Previous Meeting at atLaurel Laurel Park PAWTUCKET R I Oct 25 Just when Frank Carreaud appeared to have next Sat ¬ urdays New England Futurity at his mercy with Time Alone Alfred Gwynne Vander bilt threw a monkey wrench into the gears by shipping his best Juvenile Impound to Narragansett for a crack at the 25000 added stake which will net approximately 35000 for the winning owner Impound already has finished In front of Time Alone when both were whipped by Johnstown in the Richard Johnson Stakes at Laurel on October 8 8To To further complicate matters for Car ¬ reaud J W Brown has declared his Inten ¬ tion of sending his hardhitting colt T M Dorsett after the pot so what a few days ago looked like a parade for the Carreaud champion now looms as a fairly open race raceAPPEARS APPEARS A CHAMPION CHAMPIONTime Time Alone appeared a real champion in I winning the Pawtucket Handicap at Narra colt pulled to the front immediately follow ¬ ing the break and though jockey Tucker had him under restraint throughout the big chestnut steadily increased his lead to win by five lengths from Heather Time in tha sensational time of 110 This colt has been carefully nursed having only made four appearance on the race course He just missed in his initial effort at Tanforan last May but it took Porters Mite to whip him Impound the horse Time Alone will have to beat a bay son of Sun Beau and Embargo Arts has figured prominently in the some ¬ what scrambled twoyearold situation Car ¬ rying 116 pounds Impound ran second to Porters Mite with 119 in the Champagne Stakes at Belmont beaten by a length and a half On September 28 at Belmont he fin ¬ ished third to Benefector and Technician in the Futurity Impound turned in an excellent effort to finish fifth to Porters Mite with Benefactor Up the Creek and Olney in the ruck He came right back to give Johns ¬ town considerable trouble in the Richard Johnson Stakes at Laurel the race in which he beat Time Alone AloneT T M DORSETT QUALIFIES QUALIFIEST T M Dorsett a son of Cohort and Michi ¬ gan Miss proved his right to Futurity con ¬ sideration when he won at Jamaica last Wednesday carrying top weight of 117 pounds and beating Johns Heir by three lengths This was the second straight vic ¬ tory for Joe W Browns juvenile which had won an allowance race at Jamaica on October 12 beating Book Plate and Gilded Knight KnightE E R Bradleys Benefactor which beat Impound among others at Belmont on Sep ¬ tember 28 winning by five lengths rates consideration as does W L Branns Chal ledon winner of the Maryland Futurity at Laurel This Challenger II colt comes from behind and the Futurity distance is made to order for him himMany Many distinguished horsemen including Alfred G Vanderbilt Wm Woodward and Joseph E Widener will attend the running of the New England Futurity
