SCHLEY GOREE worked his way forward on the outside, reached the leaders on the stretch turn, then finished full of run to draw out after getting into the lead during the last sixteenth. TEMPTING WITCH showed much speed, stalled off ROVING EYE and FOGGY MORN, but could not withstand the winner. FOGGY MORN raced stoutly all the way and was best of the others. HAPPY HOST raced evenly. JUSTA JIMMIE was unable to enter a forward position. ROYAL VEIL showed no ability in the footing. ORPHANOS had no early speed, but came stoutly in the late stages and is worth noting. HILTON, outrun early, raced to the outside for room, improved her position steadily to reach the leaders, rallied to a tenacious drive in the last eighth and was up in the last strides. SONGSTOP was in the thick of contention from the start, then fought it out with excellent courage. ORKILS RUSSET was rushed off her feet to get to the front and had nothing left when the real test came. EASTORIAN was under strong urging for .the entire trip and raced well. SCHLEY BUCK was stoutly ridden from the start and had no excuses. MOTHS WING could not keep pace. LA CINTA failed to better her position. DUCHESS DEL broke slowly and trailed throughout. KENNER, going forwardly under stout urging, finished determinedly in the last eighth and outstayed NANTICOKE after wearing down the leaders. NANTICOKE improved his position gradually and came willingly under punishment in the closing test. TUFT HUNTER, weakly handled, raced to the front on the turn out of the back stretch, swung very wide when the stretch was reached, then held on well. PEGADETTE was under tenacious pressure from the start and saved ground, but was not good enough. CENTERMARCH could not get to the leaders at any time. WENDOVER passed tiring horses. SANDY BELLE, breaking very slowly, showed good ability in the footing to reach her company early, improved her position stoutly on the outside to take command entering the stretch, then drew out as if much the best. KESWICK HILL was rated forwardly and rallied nicely, for the final drive. .BOOSEL stumbled repeatedly while racing strongly and continued with good courage to outstay MY BLONDE. The latter was steadied in front and saved ground, but faltered under a hard drive. ROSS was never dangerous. JUSTA PILGRIM did not favor the footing. BANK HOLIDAY could not untrack himself and was puiled up after seven-eighths. A. OCONNELL broke his left rear leg and was destroyed. OCEAN ROLL was taken under light reserve when TEDMELIA, was rushed into the lead, saved ground and regained the lead on the stretch turn, but was no match, for the winner. . UNHERALDED dropped far out of contention and was unable to menace seriously at any time. TEDMELIA was made too much use of getting to the front and tired badly in the last three-sixteenths. STROPHE, a slow beginner, moved into Contention in the last half mile, but failed to improve her position. STEPEE passed tiring horses. DAWNING HOPE had no excuses. BOSOPI tired after going a mile. FREESTONE raced stoutly during the early : running, reached the winner nearing the .final turn, then made strong bids, but hung in the closing drive. MATCH POINT, reserved back of the leaders, raced into a contending position in the last half mile and finished with good courage. MORE PEP dropped back badly after the start and failed to threaten.
