Detroit Association Opens Offices Monday MondayRegistration Registration of Horses to Begin Then Dixiana String Checks In InDETROIT DETROIT Mich May 7 With the open ¬ ing of the 73day meeting of the Detroit Racing Association only two weeks away officials will open the racing offices Mon ¬ day to begin the registration of thorough ¬ breds and set in motion preparations for what may be the most successful season this track has ever experienced Nearly 100 thoroughbreds already are on the grounds and next week they will be arriving daily dailyOne One of the latest shipments to reach here was the Dixiana establishment whose brightest star is Amber Light fourth in the Kentucky Derby last Saturday Amber Light comes here to be rested after a busy spring campaign during which he also won the Louisiana Derby and was second in the Blue Grass Stakes but he will see much action here when he returns to competition according to his trainer Jack Hodgins HodginsDixiana Dixiana was one of the leading money earning stables here last year and it is ex ¬ pected to take down its share of prizes again this summer summerSome Some of the other big stables that will take part in the racing here this summer are those of Mrs H P Bonner James Pow ¬ ers Mrs Frank J Navin Lieut T b Buhl Keene Daingerfield F H Williamson James C Ellis William Crump Lieut F M Alger Jr Ike J Collins J Graham Brown Mrs Ethel V Mars Mrs C C Winters and J O Keene KeeneThat That Detroit will have some of the finest racing in the country this summer can be seen by the dazzling array of stakes it will offer Highlighting the meeting will be four 10000 features as many worth J7500 seven endowed with 5000 and a dozen car ¬ rying 3000 purses Lending variety to the sport will be two steeplechase races a week as well as numerous events over the turf
