Woolford Farm to Seek Lincoln Fields Stakes StakesHigdon Higdon Will Have TwentyFive Racers Quartered at Hawthorne HawthorneAmong Among the many stables whose colors are familiar to Chicagoans and which will be back in the Windy City by the time the Lincoln Fields meeting opens a week from Monday at Hawthorne is the Woolford Farm establishment of Herbert M Woolf A regular at Lincoln Fields for many sea ¬ sons Woolford will be represented here by 25 OF more horses whom trainer Ross O Higdon will campaign throughout the sum ¬ mer on Chicago tracks tracksThree Three members of the Woolford forces are Lincoln Fields stakes winners Signa tor Technician and Joe Schenck Signator last spring won the Crete Handicap and during the same meeting Technician ac ¬ counted for the Francis S Peabody Memo ¬ rial Handicap while Joe Schenck captured the 1940 running of the Steger Handicap All three of these stakes as well as three others will be renewed during the 30day meeting which Lincoln Fields will stage this season seasonThe The other three stakes on the local pro ¬ gram are the Joliet Stakes which Wool ford won with Mansco back in 1935 and the La Salle and Lincoln Handicaps HandicapsWoolford Woolford has been a liberal subscriber to Lincoln Fields stakes each of which is worth 5000 in added money and it is expected to have actual starters in most of them Besides the capable older horses Signator Technician and Joe Schenck Woolford also has the fouryearold Con ¬ tradiction one of the juvenile stars of two years ago who will be ready to resume campaigning when he gets here Reportedly sound again Contradiction is expected to take his place among the leading handi ¬ cap horses who will race in Chicago this summer summerThe The Kansas Cityowned stable also will come well fortified with juvenile material Among the better twoyearolds in the sta ¬ ble are the colts La wrinson Leavenworth and Midwestern and the fillies Czech Lass Manda and Busy Line
