Trio of Derby Starters To Campaign at Detroit DetroitAmber Amber Light No Wrinkles and Dove Pie To Seek Many Stakes StakesDETROIT DETROIT Mich May 10 Three horses highly enough regarded to be started in the recent running of the Kentucky Derby are among the many star thoroughbreds who will be seen under silks during the 73day meeting of the Detroit Racing Association opening May 22 They are Dixianas Amber Light Milky Way Farms No Wrinkles and J Warfield Rodgers Dove Pie The Dixiana colt was good enough to finish fourth to Count Fleet Blue Swords and Slide Rule and on the strength of that performance alone he should prove himself a formidable force in the conclusion of the many stakes and handicaps which stud the Detroit pro ¬ gram gramDetroit Detroit racing will offer many oppor ¬ tunities for threeyearolds to enter com ¬ petition among themselves for purses much in excess of the 1000 minimum The first of these is the 5000 Colonel Alger Memo ¬ rial Handicap to be contested May31 and the second is the 5000 Detroit Handicap scheduled for June 5 5Amber Amber Light who won the Louisiana Derby and finished second to Ocean Wave in the Blue Grass Stakes is being freshened in advance of a busy summer campaign but he might be a starter in the Detroit Handi ¬ cap if he is not entered in the earlier stake for horses of his age The Dixiana colt may not be in Detroit the entire summer for he has engagements in the Arlington Classic and American Derby in Chicago but he will spend most of the season in the Motor City CityNo No Wrinkles and Dove Pie also have en ¬ gagements in Chicago but whether they journey to the Windy City will depend upon the success they enjoy here hereAnother Another threeyearold of note who may be ready for competition here by the time some of the more important stakes are run at the Fair Grounds is Brown Hotel Stables Seven Hearts who was prevented from fill ¬ ing his engagement in the Kentucky Derby by a foot injury Seven Hearts was one of the outstanding juvenile developments of Detroit racing last year and he again is expected to make his presence felt here dur ¬ ing this meeting when he gets back into i action
