ROMAN HERO went to the front at once, drew away into a comfortable lead and, rated along under slight restraint, came wide into the stretch and closed with good energy. RICHESTAN moved up through ihe back stretch, came to the inside of the leader in the stretch and held on with good eneruv. RUSSIA closed ground steadily during the last five-sixteenths. DIZZY B. worked bis way into a contending position, but was unable to make tip any ground through the stretch. CRAB APPLE w.s unable to endanger the leaders. STAR CHANCE failed to respond when called upon. DINSEN. prominert, but in close quarters on the inside, failed to better his position when placed under urging. LIKE GREENOCK tired in the lat quarter. YALDINA ROCKET went to the front soon after the start, drew into a good lead, was taken under steadving reserve when OUR VICTORY assumed command, but, catching; the leader tiring, was up in the closing stride. OUR VICTORY went into a clear lead, but began tiring nearing the finish and just failed to hold on long enoueh. CI IY BRED went prominently al! the way. STOP HARPING, unable to keep up early, made up some ground. CHARGE was unable to threaten in the losing drive. FLYING NED was unable to reach, the leaders. FOUR LEAF unseated her rider at the post and, but for a brief show of early speed, was never a factor. LITTLE HOOPS trailed his field for the first half, was brought to the outside straghtenina: out in the Stretch and, closing with a rush, was along in the closing strides to outlast BLUE BOOTIES. The latter, well placed and lightly restrained early, went to the front after rounding from the back stretch, drew clear and, while holding on stubbornly, was not quite good enough. DODGE CITY displayed good speed, fought it out for the command and tired slightly during the last sixteenth. MOST ALERT, well placed earlv, was unable to better his position under pressure. HICONJP forced the pace cf SPIRAL PASS, saved ground into the stretch and, holding on stubbornly through the last eighth, held ITABO safe to the end. ITABO, reserved for the first three-eighths, moved up stoutly on the outside straightening out in the stretch and fought it out stubbornly to the close. GALAFLY was well placed all the way. SPIRAL PASS diowcd speed in the pacemaking, but was unable to keep pace during the stretch run. TWINKIPPY, reserved back of the pace, moved up on the outside nearing the stretch, but was unable to close any ground during the closing test and lugged in during the last eighth. CATCALL made up some grounds SHOW HOUSE moved up threateningly nearing the last turn, but was unable to keep pace during the remainder of the way. NOPALOSA ROJO was unable to threaten. JELWELL tired.
