Tropicals Charity Week Of Racing Begins Today Net Proceeds of Final Six Days Sport Earmarked for Agencies CORAL GABLES, Fla., April 1.— Floridas most successful racing season in history, t " comes to its final week with the sport of Monday and this final six days will be conducted by the Tropical Park Fund, Inc., for the benefit of various selected charities. The Gables Association wound up its season today with the running of an excellent card topped by the ,000 Ponce de Leon Handicap and the turning over of the final week of the season also means turning over the richest award of the spring season, the Tropical Handicap, the last special of the meeting. The benefit week begins with a program that promises well, with the Daytona Purse of a mile and a sixteenth for the three-year-olds in grade "D" engaged. Eleven have been named and of these the Mrs. R. Feinberg silks will be represented by Tidy Reward and Blue Line. Top weight here will be carried by S. D. Sldells Cab Sir, when he has to shoulder 117 pounds. He has been improving and should surely be a contender. Paul Kelleys The Captain, with 111 pounds as his burden, is sure to be a contender here. His last race was a winning effort, when, after losing much ground in the running, he was a close third. Jamoke is another that has attracted the attention of the dockers and altogether the race promises well. Another event, the Oleander, for the sprinters of grade "D." also promises well and there it is Morocco Sir that has the top impost of 122 pounds.
