Galliger of the half-mile track announced upon his arrival here yesterday. "Track superintendent Ed Kumery has the strip in i excellent shape and, in fact, the entire i plant is ready for operation," Galliger added. Galliger came from Jacksonville, Fla„ , where he spent the winter months and also 1 revealed that the racing secretarys office would be open daily from now on for the registration of horses and the hundred and one other details that his office handles. Horsemen were again reminded by Gal-[ • liger not to ship to the Cicero course un-; • less they had received notice that their applications for stall space had been ap-l ■ proved. He further added that no more • applications would be accepted. With horses arriving daily, all the stalls I at both Sportsmans Park and neighboring , Hawthorne, which together can accommo-, • date 1,000 head, will be filled to capacity when the opening bugle sounds on April 29. Among the stables already on the grounds are those of Robert McGarvey, . who was second on the trainers list at the i recently concluded Oaklawn Park meeting ; with 10 winners, and the Mrs. Emil Dene-mark string, which will be conditioned by Dave Womeldorff.
